Certain O'ahu DMVs now extending hours into the weekend

Posted: Updated:
HONOLULU -

Congestion at the O'ahu DMV is expected to ease up.

Office hours at some locations are being extended to Saturdays.

Drivers licensing centers in Kapolei, Ko'olau, Kapalama and Wahiawa will be open each Saturday from eight a.m. until noon, now through August 25th.

The city says the new schedule is implemented in order to tackle a busy summer season. Plus, more people are renewing their license this year.

Saturday services are limited to driver license renewals and duplicates, plus state ID services.  However, there will be no road or written tests.
