More than 1,000 lava evacuees without power at the Pahoa Community Center

HONOLULU (KITV) -

Nearly 9,000 Pahoa residents lost power for several hours Thursday, including evacuees.

A downed tree in Ainaloa is to blame for the power outage.

Hawaii Electric Light Company has restored service for most of the area.  

However, more than 1,000 lava evacuees in the Pahoa Community Center are still without power.
