The president is just hours away from sitting face to face with the North Korean leader.
           

ABC's Tara Palmeri reports, President Donald Trump has high hopes that North Korea will denuclearize.

President Trump landed in Singapore, confident about his chances of success at that high stakes summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

 
Km Jong-un, touched down hours earlier, with his sister, Kim Yo-jong in a black limousine with North Korean flags on the hood


Kim told Singaporean Prime Minister Lee at his office quote "the whole world is watching." The North Korean state media said Trump and Km would discuss quote a "permanent and durable peace-keeping mechanism"

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said overnight that the president is "well-prepared" for the meeting. 

Trump said, "It's a one-time shot, and I think it's going to work out very well,
going with his gut, he said he'll know right away if the North Korean leader is serious about denuclearization

                                   
Trump added, "I think the minimum would be a relationship. We'd start at least a dialogue// but I've said many times who knows? Who knows?

 

The two leaders will meet at 9am local time at the Capella Hotel on an island off the main land called Sentosa, which means peace in Malaysian. a white house officials said their first meeting will be a one-on-one with just translators.
