Facebook under fire after reports of data-sharing surface

Posted: Updated:

Facebook is under fire again after new reports they formed data-sharing partnerships with sixty device companies like Apple and Microsoft.

According to "The New York Times," agreements were made before Facebook was available on smartphones, allowing access to data of your friends without consent.

The "social media" giant denied that today.

"We haven't detected any misuse of these experiences and ultimately, we announced back in April that we were winding down some of these experiences because of the fact that the people that are using them make up a smaller portion of the Facebook community these days, and it's a good time to make a healthy transition," a Facebook executive said.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently apologized before Congress for what he called a failure to prevent data from being misused.
