Jim Leahey, Hawaii sports broadcaster with over 60 years in both radio and television, confirmed to Island Sports on Monday he is retiring.
"It's just time." Leahey, 75 said.
He wrapped up his final play-by-play radio broadcast for University of Hawaii baseball last month and told Island Sports, "I want to give the young guys their turn."
Leahey began working alongside his father and Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Chuck Leahey in the 1960s and later teamed up with his son, Kanoa.
