Luxury Waikiki hotel Halekulani has a busy June. The following series of events are open to the public:

June 10 - 16:  At L’Aperitif, in celebration of National Bourbon Day – June 14th

Taste through a heavenly flight composed of three unique and highly coveted selections from the Heaven Hill Distillery in the Bardstown District of Louisville, Kentucky.

Elijah Craig Single Barrel Halekulani Selection – This hand-selected barrel with a twist. Following with the tradition of “Solera” in the Sherry region of Spain, an older reserve is blended in to give depth and harmony. The circa 1950s bottle from the archives was used to enhance the new barrel for a one of a kind bottling. $16 for a 1.5 oz serving

Elijah Craig Small Batch Barrel #517 Barrel Proof 124.2% Abv – Rated #1 by Whisky Advocate for the Top 20 Whiskies of 2017. With an average age of 12 years, this is the best time to taste an aged Bourbon as a barrel proof before the reduction takes it over the top. Direct from Heaven Hill Distillery, this may be the only bottle on the island. $45 for a 1.5 oz serving

Elijah Craig Single Barrel 23 year old – This selection is the oldest at the top of the range. Normally offered exclusively at the Heaven Hill Distillery, L’Aperitif is the only other place you can taste this special barrel.  $180 for a 1.5 oz serving

A special Tasting Flight will all three selections (0.5 ounce servings) will be available for $80 and is accompanied by a trio of hors d’oeuvres from the chef at La Mer.
