A big blow to tourism comes Monday as the Norwegian Cruise Line announced its Pride of America ship will not make port calls on the Big Island this week due to the lava threat.

Instead, the ship will spend the day at sea.

It also will not dock in Kona on Wednesday, instead it will spend an extra day in Lahaina.

The Hawaii Island Visitors Bureau reports that cruise ships make up about twenty-five percent of overall business to the island.
