(Hawaii Athletics) - The University of Hawai'i team of Brett Rosenmeier and Colton Cowell will play for the USAV Collegiate Beach Championship after a straight-set semifinal win over Quincy's Collin Merk and Anthony Winter Friday.
In a rematch of Thursday's pool play opener, the Rainbow Warrior pair won 21-18, 21-16 to advance to the championship match, Saturday at 8:20 a.m. HT. Rosenmeier and Cowell, which finished fourth at last year's tournament, will face either Pepperdine's Robert Mullahey and Owen Yoshimoto or Florida State's Jon Justice and Adam Wienckowski in a match that will be televised on NBCSN on a delayed basis following the live women's final. Coverage runs 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. HT.
Rosenmeier and Cowell defeated Justice and Wienckowski in Thursday's Pool B championship match, 21-14, 19-21, 15-12.
This year's winning team will represent the United States at the FISU World University Games in Munich, Germany. The event is part of the 2018 Team USA Summer Champions Series
