12-feet pipe on Ward Ave. replaced after collapse, causing a sink hole
A collapsed 21-inch storm drain pipe appears to be the cause behind a sink hole on Ward Avenue.
HONOLULU (KITV) - All lanes on Ward Avenue are back open after a 21-inch storm drain pipe collapsed and caused a sink hole.
A Department of Facility Maintenance crew replaced 12-feet of pipe. Three steel plates are now on the roadway. Resurfacing will happen at a later date.
The sink hole closed four lanes on Ward Avenue Thursday morning.
Crews will continue the sink hole repair at 8:30 a.m. Friday morning.
