The rain poured then came some flooding Friday evening.

Many parts of Oahu affected by the severe weather. The State Department of Transportation had to shut down Kalanianaole Highway from Aina Haina to Makapuu. 

Honolulu Fire Department also responded to multiple water evacuations. Most of them were along Kalanianaole Highway, Waimanalo, Hawaii Kai to Aina Haina.

Wind and rain whipped through Kaimuki and brought down a power line along Maunaloa Avenue fronting Liholiho elementary.

Police had to close the road to allow HECO crews to work on it. About 2,800 customers were without power in east Honolulu, Waimanalo and Kailua.

The forecast shows increasing rain for the first part of the weekend as an upper low move near the islands. Mostly cloudy with scattered rains Saturday. The wettest weather is expected to be in windward and mauka areas. Winds will be out of the east at 15-30 mph. 

Expect somewhat drier weather by Sunday but still breezy.
