Enrolling your keiki into pre-school for free.

The Hawaii State Public Charter School Commission is now accepting pre-school applications for the fall.

There are 360 open spots at charter schools on O'ahu, Moloka'i, Kaua'i and the Big Island.

To be eligible for the free program, you have to meet certain income requirements.

For example, if you're a family of three making up to $47,800, you can apply.

Parents tell Island News, it's been a huge financial relief for their families.

"It's a great relief on my family's part to have a free pre-school education. We have two preschoolers, so it's great to be able to have a free, quality education for them," Lisa Foxen, parent said.

"If your child does have the opportunity like this to get that head start, it's an awesome experience for them and something that they truly need, to interact with other children, to have that hands-on benefit to worth with others, sharing, caring, loving each other," Maile Keliihoomalu, parent said.

To see if you meet the income requirements for this free program, contact Deanne Goya at the school's Commission office at (808) 586-3775
