Hawaiian music legend, Richard Ho'opi'i died at the age of 76 Saturday.

According to his daughter, Ho'opi'i died at his home on Maui. 

He and his brother, Solomon, formed the Ho'opi'i Brothers.  They recorded a series of Hawaiian music albums in the 70's and 80's.  Their music became influential in the islands.

In 2003, he helped establish a contest to celebrate Hawaiian falsetto singers.
