High bacteria levels found at Waimanalo Beach

Posted: Updated:
WAIMANALO, Hawaii -

Water quality tested at Waimanalo Beach showed exceeding levels of bacteria Wednesday.

It is not recommended to swim in areas with polluted water, as it can cause nausea, vomiting, stomachache, diarrhea, headache or fever.  In areas with even more bacteria, swimmers are susceptible to worse diseases.

The beach has been marked, and the advisory will remain in effects until bacteria levels go down.
