Bill to allow terminally ill patients to end lives passes House, moves to Senate

HONOLULU -

Members of the House passed the "Our Care Our Choice Bill" Tuesday. The bill now moves to the Senate. It would allow terminally ill patients to ends their lives with the use of medication from a State of Hawaii licensed health care provider.

Safeguards added to the bill include confirmation from two health care providers of the patient's condition, two verbal requests from the patient within 20-days of each other, and mandatory counseling.
