HONOLULU - Tonight, Kaimuki bakery and restaurant Café Laufer will close its doors for good.
Head chef Melvin Avecilla has been with the café for 17 years, and tells Island News the closure comes after lease issues. He says he was originally set to take over the business, but an agreement couldn’t be worked out with the current owner Cyrus Goo.
This is the second Kaimuki restaurant to close down this week, following JJ French Pastry & Bistro’s closure on Sunday.
