Tsunami watch cancelled for Hawaii after 7.9-magnitude earthquake near Alaska
A tsunami watch has been cancelled for the state of Hawaii after a 7.9-magnitude earthquake in the Gulf of Alaska late Monday night, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

EWA BEACH, Hawaii - A tsunami watch has been cancelled for the state of Hawaii after a 7.9-magnitude earthquake in the Gulf of Alaska late Monday night, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
The tsunami watch was issued at 11:43 p.m. Monday. The watch was cancelled at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday.
The 7.9-magnitude earthquake happened at around 11:31 p.m. about 359 miles south of Anchorage. It had a depth of about 15.5 miles.
