HONOLULU - The annual Point-In-Time count kicks off Monday night.  Hundreds of volunteers will survey homeless residents in an effort to count every person living on the street in the state.

In the survey, volunteers will ask questions related to race, substance abuse, disability, and to find out how long they’ve been homeless.

In collecting the information, the goal is to deliver better services in the future.

The count launches at 6 p.m. and will wrap up Friday at 4 p.m.
