HONOLULU - Proctor & Gamble, the maker of Tide laundry detergent products, is warning the public against a dangerous Internet challenge.

It's called the #TidePodChallenge.  According to WXIN in Indianapolis, people are recording themselves eating Tide Pods and circulating the videos on social media.

Proctor & Gamble released the following statement:

Our laundry pacs are a highly concentrated detergent meant to clean clothes and they’re used safely in millions of households every day. They should be only used to clean clothes and kept up, closed and away from children. They should not be played with, whatever the circumstance is, even if it is meant as a joke.

If you think someone has ingested a Tide Pod, call the Hawaii Poison Hotline at 1-800-222-1222 and click here for Poison Prevention Basics.
