Honolulu police have opened a homicide case Friday after a 59-year-old man was stabbed to death on a ship docked at Honolulu Harbor's Pier 10 near Aloha Tower. The victim, a crew member aboard a ship docked at Pier 10 named the Hai Soon 39, was apparently stabbed once with a sharp object around 1 a.m. No weapon was recovered. The 66-year-old male suspect, a fellow crew member, was arrested just before 4 a.m.
The Hai Soon 39 bears registration in Avatiu, a settlement on Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
