KANEOHE, Hawaii - The Hawaii State Department of Health will host a public informational meeting in Kaneohe on Friday to explain the impact cesspools are having on drinking water and sensitive surface waters, according to Rep. Jarrett Keohokalole, who represents Kaneohe, Kahaluu, and Waiahole.

The meeting is expected provide information on possible solutions to the cesspools.
"This is an opportunity for residents to hear the State Department of Health's plan to reduce the number of cesspools in Hawaii and to hear details of their report just released to the legislature," said Rep. Keohokalole . "Residents can also ask questions about safe water and funding issues."

The meeting is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. through 8 p.m. at the Kualoa-He'eia Ecumencial Youth Project (KeyProject) at 47-200 Waihe'e Road.
