Prosecutors hoping to deny, increase bail for Saito
U.S. Marshals arrived in Honolulu with Randall Saito in custody at around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday
HONOLULU - U.S. Marshals arrived in Honolulu with Randall Saito in custody at around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday. Federal authorities transported Saito from San Joaquin County in California to face state escape charges in connection with the escape from Hawaii State Hospital back in November.
Saito is being held as a pre-trial felon at the Oahu Community Correctional Center unless he posts the half-million dollar bail or bond set on the escape charge. If he does not post the half million dollar bail, he will be sent back to the Hawaii State Hospital. Either way, Saito will not be released into the community.
On Thursday, prosecutors asked the courts to deny bail, increase bail, or require bail be paid in cash.
Court documents showed the fake IDs Saito used to get to the mainland.
