Three companies are on scene and eight more are on their way.
MILILANI, Hawaii - A three-alarm fire sends residents running from an apartment complex in Mililani Monday night.
Officials say the initial alarm came just after 7 p.m. at 94-385 Kaholo Street.
The fire was extinguished by 8:30 p.m.
There’s still some work left to be done as the building is burned to black inside and out. The unit next door also suffered minor damage.
Island News spoke to a man who was watching the championship game a few doors down when the fire started, he said he heard some crackles and broken glass. Next thing he knew, he heard someone yell “get out” and that sent his family running.
"So I ran out there and by that time, the flame was shooting out the back window patio so I told my son and daughter in law to take the baby and get out and then we tried to get the hose to put it out but somehow I guess the fire so I just told my daughter in law get the baby and get out," Robert Andrade, area resident said.
No one was inside when the fire started. No one was injured.
The cause is still under investigation.
