Popular morning radio duo gets replaced by syndicated show
“The Woody Show" replaces the morning drive duo of Hudson & Scotty B.
Star 101.9 announced Tuesday that a nationally syndicated morning show will take over the weekday timeslot of a longtime popular local duo.
“The Woody Show" will air from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. starting Wednesday, replacing the morning drive duo of Hudson & Scotty B, who hosted their last show Tuesday after working together for 20 years on the alternative radio-programmed station.
A petition has already been posted on change.org to keep the local morning show on the air in its timeslot.
Because of the change in programming, Hudson will move to middays, immediately following "The Woody Show," from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. She replaces midday host Jon Manuel.
Scotty B will continue to host the midday show on sister station KSSK-FM.
Star 101.9’s afternoon drive program "Maleko’s Room," hosted by Island News’ Maleko McDonnell, will shift to afternoon-evenings from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.
"The Woody Show" is described as "highly-interactive, socially-engaging appointment radio ... described by listeners as 'authentic,' 'raw,' 'unapologetic,' and 'recess/happy hour on the radio.'”
The syndicated show will also air 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturdays.
