The Honolulu Zoo closed on Tuesday at 1:45 pm. due to the heavy rain causing ponding on the walkways, according to city officials.
The Honolulu Zoo reopened at 9 a.m. on Wednesday as crews work to remove mud and debris from the walkways and clean the animal habitats. Due to the cleanup, some animals may only be visible later in the day.
The Honolulu Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and only closes on Christmas Day.
