A winter storm warning is in effect for the Big Island summits until 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say heavy snow is occurring and travel conditions will be difficult.
Expect damage to trees and power lines. Additional snow accumulations of 2-to-5-inches are expected. Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times. Strong winds are also possible.
Earlier in the week, there were blizzard-like conditions at the Mauna Kea summit.
