PUC approves HECO rate increase
HONOLULU - The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission on Monday approved Hawaiian Electric's first rate hike in six years.
HECO says the average Oahu household will see a $2.82 increase on their monthly bill.
The 2.5% increase will help pay for initiatives that increase reliability and resilience, renewable energy, and improve customer service.
The PUC must set a date when that rate will take effect.
