WASHINGTON, D.C. -

U.S. Representative Colleen Hanabusa issued the following statement after voting to table a resolution that would initiate the impeachment process against President Donald J. Trump:

“There is no doubt in my mind that President Trump is unfit to execute the responsibilities of the Presidency. I am constantly disappointed with his divisive rhetoric, his lack of leadership, and his poor judgement. But now is not the time for a vote of impeachment. The President and his team are the subject of an ongoing federal investigation and we should allow that probe to conclude so we have the evidence required for impeachment. Without that evidence, it is very difficult to round up the 218 votes necessary to move forward.”

The motion to table passed, 364-58.
