New high rise project gets green light from zoning committee

A 26-story Honolulu high rise is one step closer to development.
The Hawaii City Plaza condominium got the green light from the City Council's zoning committee Tuesday afternoon. The project's approval is now pending a full council vote.
The 163-unit tower would be located across from the Ke'eaumoku Walmart. Twenty percent of those units will be affordable.
The development is one of about a dozen residential high rise projects in the area close to the future rail line.
