HONOLULU - Employees from three contracting companies were ringing bells for the Hawaii Salvation Army Friday, in downtown Honolulu.

Swinerton, Redmont Real Estate Group and Homeworks Construction tried to gather as many donations as they could at the corners of Bishop and King Streets.

Donations help those in need.

"Hawaii is a great place. People are always so generous here in Hawaii. So we really look forward to their generosity at our Christmas kettles and our angel trees. When they give back to the Salvation Army, that helps the Salvation Army to help many needy families throughout the community every Christmas season as well as throughout the year," Maj John Chamness, Hawaii Salvation Army said.

The group is looking for more help with bell ringing and the organization's angel trees.
