Local shops embracing 'Small Business Saturday'
With the Black Friday rush over, more than 40 small businesses in Kaimuki are hoping shoppers will turn their attention to 'Small Business Saturday.' The nationally recognized event encourages people to visit local brick and mortar businesses. The event in Kaimuki runs from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday. Features vendors include Pipeline Bakery, Hot Yoga 808, Allison Izu, Boston Pizza and more. The event is organized by the Kaimuki Business and Professional Association.

It's small Business Saturday: a day to encourage shoppers to visit local Brick and Mortar businesses.
One neighborhood on Oahu is buying into the day: Kaimuki.
More than 40 shops in the community participated.
"We're really trying to support the local businesses and we have a lot of little mom and pop type businesses in Kaimuki and we have a lot of independent restaurants to and we're really trying to get people up here to experience those," Maylon Moore, president of the Kaimuki Business & Professional Association said.
Shops are open until 9 p.m.
