Hawaii air cargo industry growing

Posted: Updated:
HONOLULU -

As on-line shopping continues to grow so does air cargo to Hawaii.

The state collected data from 1990 through 2016 finding the amount of items shipped via air to Hawaii jumped nearly three percent per year.

Top items flown-in: electronics.

Agriculture's the leading product shipped out of Hawaii via air.

Average pay in the cargo industry is just over $37.00 per hour.

And over the next 20 years Boeing predicts world air cargo traffic will increase four percent annually.
