Oahu pedestrian who died from her injuries identified

Posted: Updated:

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle on Queen Street Friday morning.

She was Mieko Arita, 64, of Honolulu.

About 9 a.m. Nov. 17, Arita was walking south when she was struck by a car coming out of a driveway.

She was taken to a hospital in serious condition, and on Saturday morning, she died as a result of her injuries.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident. An investigation is ongoing.
