HONOLULU - Ongoing efforts to remove the Pacific Paradise fishing vessel continue after it ran onto a reef near Kaimana Beach a little over a month ago.

This past weekend, crews anchored a small barge near the vessel to work from as they asses the boat to make patches in order to begin removing water from the boat.

The Coast Guard says roughly two-and-a-half weeks of preparatory work is needed before they before they’ll try to move the vessel.
