Attorney and community advocate Maile Lu'uwai officially entered Lieutenant Governor race
Attorney and Community Advocate Maile Lu'uwai officially entered the race for Lieutenant Governor Friday as a democrat.
Lu'uwai made her announcement at the Administration building of her alma-mater, Sacred Hearts Academy.
She says she's a reflection of the school's mission to educate young women to make a difference.
"Hawaii is ready for new leadership, leadership with backbone and a strong and fearless advocate and I am that advocate. I understand the needs, frustration and desires that many voters are feeling right now because I felt that myself," Lu'uwai said.
Her announcement was in honor of her father, who was a Korean War Veteran.
