Hawaiian Electric is continuing work to replace two 138-kilovolt transmission line poles along Moanalua Road in Aiea across from Waimalu Elementary School.
Night work continues through Dec. 1. The daytime foundation work has been extended into early next week (Monday, Nov. 20) from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m., excluding weekends.
The construction area is along Moanalua Road, west of the intersection of Ka'ahele Street. For the safety of the public and the crews, the two westbound lanes of traffic and the adjacent sidewalk in the construction area will be closed during work hours. Westbound traffic will be contraflowed onto the middle turning lane. Patrons will continue to have access to parking lots for businesses in the area.
Traffic signs, control measures, and special-duty police officers are helping to control traffic on Moanalua Road.
Hawaiian Electric apologizes for any inconvenience.
