HONOLULU - A former University of Hawaii volleyball player and Honolulu Police Officer is headed to court for federal wire fraud.

Maulia Labarre, 35, pled guilty in July. He's expected to be sentenced Monday and faces up to 20 years in prison.

He admitted to using his position as a police officer to have sex with someone suspected of prostitution in exchange for helping her pending criminal case. 

Labarre worked for the HPD for eight years before being fired in May of this year.
