Waipahu street contraflow continues due to water main repairs
It happened during road restoration work on Paiwa Street after initial repairs to a 12-inch water main.
During road restoration work Saturday after initial repairs to a 12-inch water main, Board of Water Supply crews discovered a new leak in the same water main on Paiwa Street in Waipahu.
Because of that, the north-bound lanes of Paiwa Street between Puko Street and Hapapa Street will remain closed as crews work to repair the water main. The south-bound lanes on Paiwa Street will continue to be contraflowed to allow for one lane in each direction.
Special duty HPD is assisting with managing the traffic controls. The traffic modifications will remain in place for the duration of the water main and road repairs. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to use alternate routes where possible. Repairs are expected to take place throughout the day and possibly into the evening.
Approximately 19 customers are affected. A new water wagon will be provided.
