HONOLULU - The Hawaii Republican Party has a new chair.

Retired Air Force colonel and business woman, Shirlene Ostrov, was elected at this past weekend's Hawaii Republican State Convention.

Ostrov defeated state House Minority Leader Andria Tupola.

Ostrov is the President and CEO of Ares Mobility Solutions, a logistics and solutions consulting firm.

Last year, Ostrov unsuccessfully ran against Colleen Hanabusa for the U.S. House seat vacated by Mark Takai.

She will succeed outgoing Chair, Fritz Rohlfing, whose term is expiring.
