UH students, faculty and staff welcomed Alyssa to the Manoa campus with music and lei.

The 15-years-old from Texas has been diagnosed with Osteo-sarcoma bone cancer.

University of Hawaii medical students weren't the only ones with a surprise for the teen.

Alyssa also got to hang out, and shoot hoops with U-H Wahine basketball players.

After that, Alyssa, who also has an interest in medicine, got to meet medical students - and took part in an honorary white coat ceremony.
