Paul Drewes is a meteorologist on KITV Island News at 5, 6 and 10 on the weekends.
Paul grew up in Florida and earned his degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting from the University of Central Florida..
He has been a broadcaster for over 20 years. After starting off in radio, he moved to Oregon and worked as a TV news and sports reporter.
A move to Hilo in the early 1990s brought him back to radio, and he spent three years on the Big Island covering news and sports.
For the last 15 years, Paul has been on Oahu working at various television stations as a news reporter, anchor and weather forecaster.
As a surfer, and someone who loves the outdoors, covering weather seemed like a natural fit. So he completed the Mississippi State University Certified Broadcast Meteorology Program and earned his television seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Paul, an award winning journalist, joined the KITV4 team in November of 2009 and became part of the inaugural weekend morning news team in fall of 2010.
When he is not working, Paul spends time with his family, including his wife Gina and two sons Noa and Kai, who also share his love of the water.
