Jodi Leong

Jodi Leong returned to KITV after 5½ years away.

She began her career in television news at KITV in 1991 -- first as an intern, an assistant producer and producer. She then became a general assignment reporter and weekend co-anchor.

She moved to KHNL News 8 in 2000 where she was co-anchor of the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.

But Jodi was excited to move back to KITV and return to the field, working alongside the experienced journalists and old friends and colleagues at KITV.

Jodi was born and raised in Hawaii.

She has degrees in Psychology and French from Amherst College in Massachusetts and a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

She has also appeared in many community theatre productions over the years.

Her favorite roles include Diana Morales in "A Chorus Line," Maggie Winslow in "A Chorus Line," Maria in "West Side Story," Eliza DooLittle in "My Fair Lady" and Linda Low in "Flower Drum Song."

Jodi still dabbles in the arts by taking tap and jazz dance classes every Saturday at Diamond Head Theatre.

She most recently appeared in the Society of Professional Journalist’s GRIDIRON scholarship fundraiser, an endeavor she has enjoyed since 2000.

She's played everything from a tap dancing waitress, a dancing cat, a UH cheerleader and City Councilwoman Ann Kobayashi!
