The Seattle Seahawks on Saturday waived injured right tackle Michael Bowie, who needs surgery and is expected to miss 4-6 months.
Bowie, who started eight games in 2013, was supposed to battle second-round pick Justin Britt for the right tackle spot, but he injured his shoulder on the first day of training camp.
Earlier this week, the team signed veteran right tackle Eric Winston to battle Britt.
The Seahawks likely will place Bowie on injured reserve if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
The Seahawks claimed tackle Cory Brandon off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday.
