Jakub Voracek’s face is covered with a thick, red beard that’s been growing for a month, and it has nothing to do with the superstitious side of the Flyers‘ scoring leader not wanting to change anything during the hottest stretch of his career. “I’m just too lazy to shave,” the right winger said Monday before scoring a goal and assist in the Flyers’ 4-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 24-year-old Czech has been busy piling up points of late, and his 11 last week in four games earned him the NHL’s First Star of the Week. “Atta boy!” Flyers captain and linemate Claude Giroux yelled out when overhearing reporters tell Voracek of his honor. Voracek began his big week with a career-best four points, all of them assists, in a 7-0 win on Long Island, followed with his first NHL hat trick in a victory in Pittsburgh. He then scored against Carolina in a losing cause and added three more helpers in a victory over Winnipeg.
