Tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Sony Open PGA Tour golf tournament scheduled Jan. 7 through 13 at the Waialae Country Club.

The world’s finest golf professionals will once again tee up to compete for a share of the $5,600,000 purse with Sunday's champion taking home $1,008,000 in prize money.

Tournament admission tickets and VIP Champions Club hospitality packages are available online at the Friends of Hawaii Charities, Inc. website.

In addition, First Hawaiian Bank branches will serve as ticket outlets on Oahu beginning in December 2012.

Admission to the event is free Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 7 and 8 and $15 per person daily Wednesday through Sunday, Jan. 9 through 13 if purchased in advance online or at First Hawaiian Bank branches on Oahu.

Tickets purchased at the gate during tournament week are $20 per person daily.

Season Badges are $50 and good for admission throughout the week. The Champions Club Daily Pass ($150) includes admission for the selected day to the VIP Champions Club hospitality venue with complimentary buffet food and beverage service. The Champions Club Badge ($600) includes daily admission Thursday through Sunday to the VIP Champions Club hospitality venue and complimentary buffet food and beverage service. Children 12 years and younger are admitted free to the tournament when accompanied by an adult with a purchased ticket. Active and retired military service members are admitted free with an official military ID. Veterans will be provided free admission tickets via the Veteran Tickets Foundation.

The Sony Open consistently draws an elite field of professional golfers, including the top money leaders on the PGA Tour.

With a two-shot lead, Johnson Wagner finished at 13-under 267 to earn the 2012 Sony Open champion’s trophy and his 3rd career PGA Tour victory. He will defend his title in the one-week event at Waialae Country Club golf course which will showcase Hawaii to a global television audience in more than 560 million homes across 220 countries and territories. The rounds of professional tournament competition are nationally broadcast live by Golf Channel and the Sony Open is the only PGA Tour tournament with live broadcasts to Japan provided by NHK and Jupiter Sports Network.

Community and tournament spectators will enjoy a week of activities. The Sony Dream Cup Pro-Am is scheduled on Monday, Jan. 7; Hawaii’s best junior golfers pair up with PGA Tour pros for the Acura Hawaii Pro-Junior Skills Challenge on Tuesday, Jan. 8; the Official Sony Open in Hawaii Pro-Am tees off Wednesday, Jan. 9 and the PGA Tour official tournament rounds run Thursday through Sunday, Jan. 10 through 13.
