Cory Schneider finished with 20 saves for the Devils, who are winless in their last nine road contests (0-7-2).With the game tied at 1-1, Atkinson capped a brilliant individual effort along the boards before his backhander from the high slot beat Schneider inside the left post with 4 1/2 minutes remaining in the second period.
