Blue Jackets 2, Avalanche 1 (OT): Artem Anisimov scored a power-play goal at 2:26 of overtime and host Columbus ended a four-game winless drought.

Vinny Prospal also had a power-play goal and Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 18 shots as the Blue Jackets won for only the second time in nine games (2-5-2).

PA Parenteau scored the lone goal and Semyon Varlamov made 32 saves for Colorado, which saw its road winless streak reach five games while falling to 2-6-3 away from home.

Anisimov scored for the second straight contest following a three-game injury absence. He wristed a shot from the right faceoff circle through a screen and inside the right post to give the league's worst team a victory in the opener of a four-game homestand.

Parenteau opened the scoring with just under 7 1/2 minutes left in the second period, flipping shot through a screen that clipped the shoulder of Bobrovsky and was upheld upon video review. Prospal tied the game early in the third on a 5-on-3 when his shot deflected off Ryan O'Reilly's stick and into Colorado's net.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Prospal's goal was the Blue Jackets' first goal scored on a 5-on-3 this season. ... Columbus' beleaguered defensive corps absorbed another blow when John Moore was injured in practice Friday, joining fellow blue-liners James Wisniewski and Jack Johnson on the sideline. ... Avalanche backup G Jean-Sebastien Giguere left the team to attend the funeral of his mother. Calvin Pickard, who has never played an NHL game, backed up Varlamov.
