NBA roundup: Clippers consider trading Bledsoe to Utah for Millsap
The Los Angeles Clippers may be interested in trading backup point guard Eric Bledsoe to the Utah Jazz for power forward Paul Millsap.
The teams are mutually interested in discussing the proposed deal as Thursday's deadline approaches, sources with knowledge of the Clippers' thinking told ESPN.com late Saturday night.
However, two other sources told ESPN.com that the Clippers do not want to trade Bledsoe and would probably stand pat.
Bledsoe was part of an earlier trade rumor that had him and center DeAndre Jordan or forward Caron Butler going to the Boston Celtics for Kevin Garnett, but Garnett has said he will not waive his no-trade clause.
If the Clippers and Jazz make a deal, Los Angeles has to add another player to make the salary-cap numbers work.
Bledsoe is averaging 9.6 points and 3.3 assists per game this season while Millsap is averaging 15.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest.
---Commissioner David Stern believes that Sacramento has a chance to keep the Kings but that is ultimately up to the team's owners.
The Maloof family has an agreement in place to sell the Kings to a group that will move the team to Seattle and rename it. Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson, however, has said a counteroffer to keep the team in Sacramento is being put together.
