(Sports Network) - Tiger Woods won his third British Open title on Sunday and will begin this week as the No. 1 golfer in the world for the 401st time.

Woods extended his lead in the Official World Golf Ranking to 8.51 average points over second-ranked Phil Mickelson.

Plucky Chris DiMarco was the only player to give Woods a challenge at Royal Liverpool on Sunday, finishing two strokes back in second place. He moved up 13 places to No. 13 this week.

Elsewhere, there was some movement in the top 20.

Vijay Singh missed the British Open cut, but remained third behind Mickelson. He was followed by Jim Furyk, who finished fourth Sunday to move up one place from last week.

Furyk bumped Retief Goosen to fifth, and Goosen was trailed by Adam Scott, Ernie Els, Geoff Ogilvy, Sergio Garcia and Luke Donald to round out the top 10.

Els placed third at Royal Liverpool to bump U.S. Open champion Ogilvy from last week's spot, while Donald moved up one place to 10th and knocked David Howell to 11.

David Toms was 12th again, followed by DiMarco, Trevor Immelman (up one) and Colin Montgomerie (down two) to round out the top 15.

Jose Maria Olazabal, Henrik Stenson, Tim Clark, Padraig Harrington and Chad Campbell finished off the top 20. Olazabal was down two places, while Stenson, Clark and Harrington all dipped one spot.

Campbell retained his 20th position. Darren Clarke was knocked from the top 20.
