Hawaii's season-opening victory over No. 4 Michigan State has brought national attention to the Rainbow Warriors.

The victory was coach Riley Wallace's 300th win at Hawaii. The win also earned the team votes on the Associated Press' Top 25 poll.

The Bows received 96 votes. That would have put them at 29th nationally.

Michigan State tumbled from No. 4 to No. 12.

UH guard Matt Lojeski was awarded the Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball player of the week for his part in the win. Lojeski had 20 points, including six three-pointers, four rebounds and a steal.

UH heads to the University of Nevada at Las Vegas for a game on Tuesday.
