Michelle Wie, 15, had her best round of the tournament Friday at the Evian Masters in Evian-les-Bains, France.

Despite shooting a 4-under 68, Wie lost ground to the leader, Paula Creamer, 18.

Wie carded seven birdies, but had one triple-bogey. Her round puts her at 3-under for the tournament and in a tie for ninth.

Her score puts her 11 strokes behind Creamer. The leader has placed a lot of breathing room between her and second place heading into the final round. Laura Davies and Karine Icher are tied for second at 7-under-par. That's still seven shots behind Creamer.

Creamer has already won one tournament this season.

After this week's tournament, Wie heads to the Weetabix Women's British Open next week.

On a side note, Golf Week magazine reported that it appears Wie will turn pro on her 16th birthday on Oct. 11. The article said that sources indicate the Wie has also agreed to a sponsor deal with Nike for $10 million to $12 million over a number of years.
